The Design Phase of the Project
Rejuvenating your old kitchen into something new and exciting starts with the design phase where we plan out every facet of your renovation or remodel. This part of the process typically takes about one to two weeks based on how much work needs to be done and the complexity of the project. You may know exactly how you want your new kitchen to look, feel, and function, or you may not have any idea what you want – you just know what you don’t like about your current kitchen space.
That’s okay – we will help you build out a new kitchen that fits in your home, taking into account the features and components you have now and those you want to install or replace, such as custom cabinets and surfaces, brand new fixtures, energy-efficient appliances and more.
We will assign you one of our highly-skilled and knowledgeable project managers to be your contact and liaison over the course of the project. This helps to avoid the hassle and headache of trying to reach multiple representatives and contractors across a variety of departments and providers just to ask a question, express a concern, or decide you want to add something more to the project.
One project manager is all you need because we do it all in-house with a team of experts who work together on each and every day. The design phase is complete when you have seen our three-dimensional rendering of your new kitchen, incorporating all of the components you want. Once you have signed off on the design, we can start the next phase of the project.
The Preparation Phase of the Project
01. Take measurements of the space
Your project manager will visit your home to take measurements of the space and review the renovation or remodel plan, applying all of the data and giving you an opportunity to bring up any questions or ideas you may have about your new kitchen.
02. Build the 3D rendering of the space
Once the measurements and specifications for your current space are gathered, we incorporate that data into the three-dimensional rendering of your new kitchen. This will allow you to see how your new kitchen will look in your home when the project is complete. We mean everything, including the cabinets, countertops, backsplash, surfaces, fixtures, handles, every essential element all the way to the tiny details.
03. Discuss and feedback
This is the kitchen of your dreams and we want to make sure it’s done right. Once you approve the final design of the project and wish to proceed, we will ask that you make your initial payment, we order all of the materials for the job and schedule a date to come to your home and start construction on your kitchen renovation project.
PLEASE NOTE: It is very important that you review any rules and regulations that govern your home in the event a condominium board or HOA needs to approve the work you plan to have performed in your home. If our renovation plans need to be pre-approved before we arrive, that step must be completed prior to work start.
But once all of those requirements have been satisfied, our team will obtain all building permits needed to begin the build phase of your new kitchen.
The Build Phase of the Project
Following your approved three-dimensional rendering of the project, our team will start building your new kitchen. First, we relocate the appliances you plan to keep in the new space and remove those you will be replacing with new versions. Next, the demolition stage begins, this involves the removal of all your current cabinets, countertops, flooring, and any other elements of the kitchen that we are planning to replace as per your approved three-dimensional rendering. Electrical and plumbing lines and systems are updated or converted as needed based on the specs of the project.
Walls are knocked down or patched up, new extensions or spaces made to accommodate incoming windows are created ahead of their installation. Now we start constructing your new kitchen – installing your new cabinets, new flooring, new backsplash, new surfaces, new lighting and new plumbing and fixtures – whatever you’ve decided you want.
The last part of this phase is returning your appliances to their designated locations, hooking them up and ensuring everything works properly. Finally, we paint and detail the kitchen to your exact specifications.
Construction and Product Warranties
All of the components of your new kitchen remodel are covered under warranty. NYC Kitchen and Bath offers a one-year warranty for all labor. Most of the components, from the building materials to the appliances, are each covered by their own separate warranties. Some of them come with a warranty of five years or more with full protection against material or manufacturing defects, others offer a lifetime warranty that has you covered for as long as you own the materials or appliances installed in your kitchen.

Yes. Most kitchen renovation projects do require that permits are secured and inspections conducted when the work is finished, particularly for jobs where the electrical systems and/or plumbing in the home are upgraded or replaced entirely. We will obtain all necessary permits and schedule the required inspections to make sure your kitchen renovation project complies with all city and state regulations.
Yes, you can. We make every effort to keep all the dust, noise, and other disruptions to a minimum so you and your family remain comfortable in your home during the renovation. But keep in mind, that while you can still reside in the home, you will not have any access to your kitchen until the project is finished. As your renovation project can take weeks or even months to complete, we highly recommend that you arrange alternatives for preparing and storing food prior to the start of the build phase.
In many cases, we are able to accommodate requests for environmentally-friendly products using sustainable materials and eco-friendly functionality, should such options be available at the time of your renovation. Please let us know if you would prefer these alternatives in your kitchen remodel and we can work to identify and review the products that are available.
