The Design Phase
Achieving the unique vision for your new kitchen begins in the design phase where we plan every aspect of the remodeling or renovation process. Depending on the scope and size of the project you have in mind, this can take anywhere from one to two weeks. You may have a very specific vision of what you want or you may just know what it is you don’t like about your current kitchen. We can help you build out a new and revitalized space, taking into account the features and components you have in mind, such as custom cabinets and surfaces, new fixtures, and the like, all of which will help you achieve the aesthetic and functionality you want.
You will work with one of our highly-skilled and knowledgeable project managers who will be your contact and liaison throughout the course of the project. That means you won’t have to deal with multiple contractors across multiple departments and multiple representatives just to ask a question or make a request about your new kitchen. The Construction Phase: Preparation
The construction phase of your remodel incorporates all of the components you will have already identified as important facets of your new kitchen during the design phase. Using all of that information, our team builds out a 3D rendering of your new kitchen to give you an accurate depiction of how it will look when the project is complete.
01. Take measurements of the space
But first, one of our project managers will come to your home to take measurements of the space and review the planned renovation or remodel you are anticipating. This will give you an opportunity to bring up any further ideas or questions you may have about your new kitchen Feel free to ask while our contractors are examining and measuring the existing space and we will review anything you wish to bring up in advance.
02. Build the 3D rendering of the space
Once the measurements and specifications for the current space are established, we enter that data into our computer to build the 3D rendering of your new kitchen. You will see everything as it will look when the project is finished, including the countertops, backsplash, surfaces, materials, fixtures, handles, and any other essential elements and tiny details in accurate digital depiction of the kitchen when completed.
03. Discuss and feedback
We want you to love your new kitchen, so don’t hesitate to make any changes or adjustments even in the eleventh hour. This is the kitchen of your dreams and we want it to be done right. If you are happy with the new layout and wish to proceed, we will request an initial payment, order all of the materials for the job and put a date on the calendar to start construction of your brand new kitchen.
Before we begin, be sure to go over any rules and regulations that govern your condo or HOA with respect to making significant changes to your home. If our renovation plans need to be pre-approved before we arrive, that step must be completed prior to work start.
Once all of the requirements have been met, our team will gather all of the building materials and permits needed to begin the build phase of your new kitchen.
The Construction Phase: Build
Based on the approved 3D rendering of the project, our team will begin construction, starting by relocating the appliances you plan to keep in the new space. The demolition stage begins, removal of all cabinets, countertops, flooring, any elements of the kitchen that we are going to replace. Electrical and plumbing lines and systems are updated or converted as needed based on the schematics of the project.
Walls are knocked down or patched up, new extensions or spaces of incoming windows are created. From there, we install new cabinets, new flooring, new backsplash, new surfaces, new lighting and new plumbing and fixtures. Once all of these elements are installed and finished, we install any new appliances or hook up and return your current appliances to their positions. Lastly, we paint and detail the kitchen to your exact specifications.
Construction and Product Warranties
All of the components of your new kitchen remodel are covered under warranty. NYC Kitchen and Bath offers a one-year warranty for all labor. Most of the components, from the building materials to the appliances, are each covered by their own separate warranties. Some of them come with a warranty of five years or more with full protection against material or manufacturing defects, others offer a lifetime warranty that has you covered for as long as you own the materials or appliances installed in your kitchen.
